New Members<\/a><\/h1>\nPlease join us in welcoming our new members<\/strong><\/p>\nFebruary 4\u00a0\u2013 23, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\nDominick Takis\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0work explores landscape and surface themes related to travels and ancestry, paint, transparencies, lichen and mixed media textures. Religious imagery creates a surface that pulls the viewer in. The symbiotic relationship between lichen and algae is a metaphorical relationship to Takis\u2019s ancestral roots.<\/p>\nInternal feelings of displacement, abandonment, and reconciliation guide\u00a0Curran Broderick\u00a0<\/strong>to form a connection with land. He was abandoned as an infant, adopted, and raised in America. He uses photography to establish roots within landscape and establish a sense of belonging.<\/p>\nBrian Reardon<\/strong>\u00a0uses oil paint to depict common objects such as tractors, toys and colanders. Reardon gives his everyday objects significance using color and a sensitive brush stroke, creating luscious and generous paintings.<\/p>\nUsing painting, drawing and cutting,\u00a0Leah Grimaldi<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>explores anxiety and joy\u2014emotions that often coexist\u2014in the context of her culture.
