<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nMy studio masquerades as a two-car garage that usually houses an SUV and a Vespa scooter. All the equipment is on wheels or otherwise mobile. I have a full array of woodworking tools as well as a pottery wheel, kiln and marble wedging table that folds down from the wall. More than half of the tools are refurbished second-hand items, and the drill press is older than me. The rear wall is used as a backdrop for photographing artwork and a 4 to 1 hoist with an attached scale hangs from the ceiling so lifting heavy objects is easy. The space is heated and insulated so working during the cold wet Northwest winters is comfortable. The rather Spartan appearance is purposeful in that it makes cleaning less of a chore when large amounts of wood dust get spread over every surface and object.<\/p>\n
As a counter point, and reminder of my inspiration, the view across the street from my studio is a forested \u201cgreen space\u201d with Cedar, Hemlock and Fir trees along with ferns, berry bushes and many woodland creatures.<\/p>\n
